Technical specifications
FIPROPHOS 509 is a liquid phosphating agent for the pre-painting treatment of ferrous materials.
FIPROPHOS 509 effectively removes machining, protective and moulding oils from metal surfaces while developing a phosphate coating of 3-8 mgr/dm2 ideal for paint anchoring. FIPROPLUS 701 degreasing additive can be added to increase the degreasing power and durability of the solutions.

Usage and Applications
1st Stage
FIPROPHOS 509 10 -30 g/lt, 35 - 60 °C; PH 3.5 - 5.5
2nd stage
Rinse with cold running water.
3rd Stage
Passivation with FIPROPLUS 704 conc. 0,3 - 0,6% and room temp.
To avoid oxidation problems, ensure that the parts are dried as quickly as possible.
To increase degreasing power, FIPROPLUS 701 additive can be added to the solution in a concentration of 0.1-0.4%.

PREPARATION OF SOLUTIONS
Pour the product slowly into lukewarm or hot water. The materials of construction of the system should be stainless steel.
.Bathroom control
Take 10 ml. of the solution to be analysed and place it in the glass beaker (or flask), add 20 ml. of distilled water.
Add 5-8 drops of Phenolphthalein indicator.
The solution will be colourless. Titrate the resulting solution, while stirring, with 0.1 N sodium hydrate until a pink colour is obtained.
This colouring identifies the end of the titration.
A 10 g/l solution consumes approximately 3 ml of 0.1 N sodium hydrate.
Power supply
To obtain the concentration in g/l multiply the value obtained by the fixed number "3.3".
Then bring the concentration to the required value by adding 3.3 kg of product per 1000 litres of bath for each missing point.
