FIPROPHOS 509 is a liquid phosphating agent for the pre-painting treatment of ferrous material.
FIPROPHOS 509 effectively removes machining, protective, and stamping oils from metal surfaces, while simultaneously developing a phosphate coating of 3-8 mg/dm2, ideal for paint adhesion. To increase the degreasing power and the lifespan of the solutions, the degreasing additive FIPROPLUS 701 can be added.

Use and Applications
1st Stage
FIPROPHOS 509 10 -30 g/l, 35 – 60 °C; pH 3.5 - 5.5
2nd Stage
Rinse with cold running water.
3rd Stage
Passivation with FIPROPLUS 704 conc. 0.3 - 0.6% and ambient temperature.
To avoid oxidation problems, ensure that the parts are then dried as quickly as possible.
To increase the degreasing power, the additive FIPROPLUS 701 in can be added to the solution at a concentration of 0.1-0.4%.

PREPARATION OF SOLUTIONS
Slowly pour the product into lukewarm or hot water. The construction materials of the system must be stainless steel.
Bath control
Measure 10 ml. of the solution to be analyzed and transfer it into the glass beaker (or Erlenmeyer flask), add 20 ml. of distilled water.
Add 5-8 drops of PHENOLPHTHALEIN indicator.
The solution will be COLORLESS. Titrate the obtained solution, while stirring, with 0.1 N sodium hydroxide until a pink color is obtained.
This color change indicates the end of the titration.
A solution at 10 g/l has a consumption of approximately 3 ml of 0.1 N sodium hydroxide.
Power supply
To obtain the concentration in g/l, multiply the value obtained by the fixed number “3.3”.
Then bring the concentration to the required value, adding 3.3 Kg of product per 1000 L of bath for each missing point.
