FIPRO AK 973 is a liquid product, synergistic blend of filming amines, neutralizing amines, polymers and corrosion inhibitors for copper.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO AK 973 is an organic product that prevents scaling and corrosion thanks to its ability to form a protective film in hot water circuits, closed cooling circuits and chiller circuits.
The filming amine contained in FIPRO AK 973 creates a protective film on the metal surface. This film in turn works as a barrier, which separates dissolved oxygen from the metal surface; this helps to prevent corrosive phenomena.
FIPRO AK 973 helps to keep the pH of closed circuits in a range between 9.0 and 9.5. At these pH values, the corrosive processes of copper and steel are minimal thanks also to their passivation state.
The filming amine contained in FIPRO AK 973 modifies the crystalline structure of calcium carbonate, making it amorphous. The resulting precipitate is poorly adherent and can be easily removed. The antiscalant properties of the product are furthermore reinforced by the presence of polymers with high dispersing capacity.

Questo film rappresenta una barriera di separazione tra l’acqua e la superficie; la capacità di diffusione dell’ossigeno attraverso questo film si riduce del 90% e questo aiuta a ridurre i fenomeni corrosivi.
La protezione del rame è rafforzata dalla presenza di un inibitore di corrosione specifico.
La combinazione delle ammine filmanti con le ammine neutralizzanti, rende il prodotto ancora più completo.
Le ammine neutralizzanti reagiscono con l’anidride carbonica libera e aiutano il pH a raggiungere i valori desiderati.
È stato anche osservato che le ammine filmanti modificano la struttura cristallina del carbonato di calcio e questo rende il precipitato amorfo, poco aderente, capace di essere rimosso con estrema facilità.
I polimeri contenuti nel FIPRO AK 973 fortificano l’azione antincrostante del prodotto grazie al loro forte effetto disperdente.

Control of bathing
Due to the dispersing effect, the old deposits present in the system will be removed.
In order to avoid the recirculation of these materials throughout the system, we recommend the following procedures:
Preferably install a filter on the recirculation, which works by separating the suspended materials and which also operates in a timed manner
Flush and fill the system alternately at least once before starting the system.
The filming amine residue can be determined with specific methods by the Fiprokim Technical Service.

Alimentation
The dosage of FIPRO AK 973 is specific for each circuit and should preferably be defined with the help of a Fiprokim technician.
In general, however, the dosage can vary from 250 to 2000 ppm with respect to the volume of the entire system.
The optimal value is then reached when the filming amine residue (CFA) can be determined in a range of 0.5 and 2.0 g / m3.
The effective dosage of FIPRO AK 973 can be further verified by monitoring the pH, which must be between 9.0 and 10.0.
FIPRO AK 973 must be dosed in concentrated form if possible; a dilution is not recommended.
The dosage can also be done with an automatic device, which doses proportionally to the system reintegration.
All the components of the dosing system that come into contact with the product must be made of material resistant to alkaline substances (eg: PVC, PE). Viton should be avoided.
Storage
All the parts in contact with FIPRO SG 596 can be built with chromium nickel steel, AISI 321 or chromium nickel molybdenum, AISI 316Ti. For the transport, storage, handling and discharge of wastewater, follow the indications and laws in force. For further information on the product consult the Safety Data Sheet. Store the product in its original sealed packaging in a cool place away from frost and direct sunlight.
