FIPRO DEFOAM 173 has been designed to solve the problem of breaking down certain types of particularly tough and persistent foam.
It is generally used in the presence of foamy type foams, ie without air that hardly disappear except with a strong breaking action of the surface tension.
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is, in fact, able to split the most persistent masses of foam in a homogeneous and continuous way thanks to the formation of a thin but solid layer of foam fringes above the surface of the treated liquid.
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is also used in the presence of aqueous solutions with a very acidic or very alkaline pH where normal silicone defoamers lose their effectiveness.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is self-emulsifiable in water; to obtain a complete dispersion of the product it is advisable to subject it to constant mixing with the liquid to be treated or to pre-add it with suitable surfactants that favor its dispersion in aqueous systems.
Given the specific conditions of use of the product, it is advisable to carry out preliminary tests to establish the exact dosage.
Generally, 1 to 3 parts of product are used for 1,000 parts of liquid to be treated.
