Technical specifications
WATERFIP C 203 is a mildly acidic liquid product which, when added to spray booth water, acts on the paint by coagulating it and preventing it from adhering to the mechanical parts of the booth and to the pipes. The coagulated paint will form an easily foamable surface layer or, with some types of paint, will settle to the bottom of the tank. The ideal pH at which WATERFIP C 203 performs its functions is 8.0 - 10.5, which can be obtained by adding buffered liquid caustic soda to the water. The product is also used as a flocculant in waste water treatment and as a flocculant in the treatment of oily emulsions.
Usage and Applications
As a coagulant in water-borne spray booths
Add the product to the tank by means of a dosing pump at a ratio of one part for every 20/25 parts of paint presumably present in the water and keep the solution's pH value between 8.0 and 10.5. Paint sludges that come to the surface can be skimmed off with appropriate systems as well as those that settle on the bottom.
.As a flocculant or flotation agent for oily emulsions
We recommend contacting our Technical Service to conduct laboratory tests to establish the ideal parameters for use.
