FIPRO SG 589 is a highly efficient alkaline degreaser for pre-treatment cycles on steel. It can be used by dipping or spraying on steel and stainless steel.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO SG 589 is used in aqueous solution, by spraying or immersion.
The operating conditions vary depending on the mode of use, as described below.

Bath temperature: 40 ÷ 80° C
Treatment time: 2 ÷ 10'
Pressure: 1 ÷ 3 bar
Formation: 20 ÷ 100 g/l

Bathroom control
Take 10 ml of bath, pour into a flask, add about 50 ml of demineralised water and 3 ÷ 5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator, titrate with 0.1 N sulphuric acid until the colour changes from pink to colourless. The ml of acid consumed for colour change represents the degreasing agent score.
A bath prepared at a concentration of 20 g/l will have a score of 10.4 ml.

Power supply
The liquor must be maintained at the set point at plant start-up by additions of FIPRO SG 589 at a rate of 1.9 kg per missing point and per 1000 l of solution and 0.25 g/l of additive.
Tanks and Storage
All parts in contact with FIPRO SG 589 can be made of Chrome nickel steel, AISI 321 or Chrome nickel molybdenum, AISI 316Ti.
