FIPRO SG 580 is an alkaline inter-operational degreaser used for washing and simultaneous corrosion protection of processed material. Designed for the removal of machining oils from ferrous material surfaces or aluminium alloys in spray treatment plants. FIPRO SG 580 is a synthetic formulation free of mineral oils.
The degree of protection provided by FIPRO SG 580, if not rinsed, is compatible with storage of treated materials in covered warehouses and can be evaluated according to UNI 9374 and 9375.
Usage and Applications
The product can be used as a protective inter-operational degreaser in single stage plants or as an antioxidant in final rinses before the drying stage. The main use of FIPRO SG 580 is in spray treatment plants or where there is the possibility of combining a mechanical action with a controlled foam washing solution.

When used as an antioxidant in final rinses concentrations between 1 and 2%.

Bathroom control
Concentration control is performed by titration of the total alkalinity present in solution, using the following method:
Take 10 ml of wash solution and place it in an Erlenmeyer flask
Add approximately 6-8 drops of bromine cresol green indicator
Titrate with 0.1 N hydrochloric acid until blue to yellow
The ml of Hydrochloric Acid 0.1 N used represents the total alkalinity value.
To obtain the concentration in g/l, multiply the value obtained by the fixed number "4.65", in the usual working concentration ranges (i.e. for values between 20 and 50 g/lt).
The frequency of the checks should be established according to the specific application. In the absence of particular conditions, a daily determination of the concentration is recommended, sufficient to establish the trend in product consumption.

For handling and storage of the product, it is recommended to comply with the requirements of the relevant
safety data sheet. If possible, use covered storage areas and avoid exposing the product to heat sources or
temperatures below 5 °C.
