FIPROPHOS 520 is a liquid phospho-degreaser designed for the pre-painting treatment of iron, aluminum, and zinc parts for immersion or pressure lance applications.
FIPROPHOS 520 is used in industrial painting and performs a combined degreasing and phosphating action. Indeed, the treated surfaces, in addition to being clean, are covered with a thin amorphous layer of iron phosphate, blue/red in color, which increases the corrosion resistance properties of the metal and provides excellent adhesion for subsequent painting.
Use and Applications
FIPROPHOS 520 is used by immersion at concentrations between 4% and 6% at temperatures between 40 °C and 60 °C with contact times of no less than 2 – 3 minutes.
For use with a pressure lance, however, use the product at a concentration of 0.5% – 1% at temperatures above 50 °C.
In both cases, rinse and dry the parts thoroughly before painting.
To achieve good phosphating, it is necessary to maintain the pH of the baths within a range of 3.5 to 5.0.

Storage
Avoid impacts and improper handling of packaging that may cause product spillage. Protect from frost, store away from heat sources, keep containers tightly closed.
