FIPROSTRIP 288

Technical specifications

FIPROSTRIP 288 is a liquid paint stripper, suitable for hot treatment in immersion and recirculation systems of painted iron, aluminum, zinc, and alloy parts. However, given the variety of materials that can be treated, it is still recommended to carry out preliminary tests.
FIPROSTRIP 288 is a product specifically designed to break down powder coatings.
The product must not be brought into contact with water, as it is not compatible with it and would alter its characteristics.

Paint residues can be conveniently removed by adequate decantation and subsequent filtration (for example with separators and/or filter presses). The solution will thus have a significantly longer service life.

Use and Applications

The product is used pure, by immersion or recirculation, and provides the best performance at temperatures between 50 and 60°C. The contact time depends on the type and quantity of paint to be removed, usually ranging between 20 and 120 minutes.
Once the parts have been treated, rinse thoroughly with water.

The tanks for using FIPROSTRIP 288 must be made of steel, preferably stainless steel, and be equipped with a lid to minimize evaporation losses.

Bath control

The bath must be checked periodically and topped up if necessary in the event of a drop in paint stripping performance.
Take 5 ml of the bath sample, add 100 ml of demineralized water.
Add 5-6 drops of phenolphthalein indicator.
Titrate with 0.1 N hydrochloric acid until the pink color disappears.
The amount of acid consumed for the color change provides the bath points, which must be between 12 and 16.

The concentration of FIPROSTRIP 288 is maintained by adding under agitation FIPROPLUS 911 in a quantity equal to 10.6 kg of additive for each missing point relative to 12 and per 1000 liters of bath.
