Technical specifications
FIPROSTRIP 291 is an alkaline paint stripper suitable for removing paints, resins and organic films from iron surfaces. Specifically designed for paint stripping operations where products with chlorinated solvents (methylene chloride) are not accepted.
FIPROSTRIP 291 quickly removes transparent, lacquered and pigmented paints from spectacles, metal profiles, tanks and artefacts.
The product is also suitable for use on plastic materials. However, due to the wide variety of plastics available on the market, we recommend that a compatibility test be carried out beforehand by soaking a sample of the material in FIPROSTRIP 291 for a few hours.
Usage and Applications
Use as is at room temperature at 70 - 80 °C.
. For easily removable paints it is possible to dilute the product with equal amounts of water or more. However, practice tests are recommended.
N.B. The product is safe on ferrous materials. Attacks galvanised materials and aluminium alloys.

Control of bathrooms
The control of the paint stripping bath is carried out by titration. In particular:
Free alkalinity
. Take 10 ml of solution with a pipette, place it in an Erlenmeyer flask, add approx. 100 ml distilled water, add approx. 3-4 drops phenolphthalein and titrate with hydrochloric acid (HCl) 1 N until colourless. The number of ml of HCl 1 N consumed corresponds to the bath score.
The product as such has a bath score of approx. 18 ml.
