FIPROSTRIP 291 is an alkaline paint stripper suitable for removing paints, resins, and organic films from iron surfaces. Specifically designed for paint stripping operations where products containing chlorinated solvents (methylene chloride) are not accepted.
FIPROSTRIP 291 quickly removes clear, lacquered, and pigmented paints from eyewear, metal profiles, tanks, and manufactured parts.
The product is also suitable for use on plastic materials. However, given the wide variety of plastic materials available on the market, it is advisable to carry out a preliminary compatibility test by immersing a material sample in FIPROSTRIP 291 for a few hours.
Use and Applications
Use as is from room temperature to 70 - 80 °C.
For easily removable paints, the product can be diluted with an equal amount of water or more. However, it is recommended to carry out practical tests.
N.B. The product is safe on ferrous materials. It attacks galvanized materials and aluminum alloys.

Bath control
Control of the paint stripping bath is carried out by titration. In particular:
Free alkalinity
Pipette 10 ml of solution, transfer to an Erlenmeyer flask, add approximately 100 ml of distilled water, add about 3-4 drops of phenolphthalein and titrate with 1 N hydrochloric acid (HCl) until colorless. The number of ml of 1 N HCl consumed corresponds to the bath points.
The product as is has a value of approx. 18 ml.

Power supply
Maintain the free alkalinity and keep the bath level constant with additions of fresh product. As a guideline, replenishment should be carried out with 1 Kg of undiluted paint stripper for each kg of paint removed. Material characteristics.
Storage
The materials of the tank and the heating coils must be made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
