METALFIP 309 is a liquid phospho-decapping agent for the pre-painting treatment of iron, to be used where a strong deoxidising action combined with a phosphating action is required.
METALFIP 309 is a low-foaming product and is therefore suitable for use in spraying machines even at temperatures of 30-40 °C. It effectively removes machining, protective and moulding oils from metal surfaces while developing a phosphate coating ideal for paint anchoring.
To increase the degreasing power and durability of solutions, special additives can be added.

Usage and Applications
METALFIP 309 is normally used at concentrations between 50 and 150 g/l by volume and temperatures between 30 and 60° C. Where a strong cleaning action is required, it is combined with FIPROPLUS 701.

Controlling solutions
Check and adjust the solution's pH within the suggested range, then titrate according to the procedure:
Take 10 ml of the solution to be analysed and place it in the glass beaker (or Erlenmeyer flask).
. Add 20 ml of distilled water. Add 5-8 drops of Phenophthalein indicator. The solution will take on an INCOLOR colour.
. Titrate the solution obtained, keeping it stirring, with 0.1 N Sodium Hydrate until a PINK colour is obtained. This colour change identifies the end of the titration.
Power supply
To obtain the concentration in g/lt multiply the value obtained by the fixed number 1.00.
Then take the concentration to the required value.
Precautions
Be careful not to mix the product with chlorinated substances.
The product is acidic and prolonged direct contact with the eyes and skin causes irritation. Therefore handle the product wearing protective gloves and clothing.
