METALFIP 309 is a liquid phospho-pickling agent for the pre-painting treatment of iron, to be used where a vigorous deoxidizing action combined with a phosphating action is required.
METALFIP 309 is a low-foaming product, and is therefore suitable for use in spray machines even at temperatures of 30-40 °C. It effectively removes machining, protective, and stamping oils from metal surfaces while simultaneously developing a phosphate coating ideal for paint adhesion.
To increase the degreasing power and the life of the solutions, specific additives can be added.

Use and Applications
METALFIP 309 is typically used at concentrations between 50 and 150 g/l by volume and temperatures from 30 to 60°C. Where a strong cleaning action is required, it is combined with the product FIPROPLUS 701.

Solution control
Check and adjust the pH of the solution within the suggested range, then titrate according to the procedure:
Take 10 ml of the solution to be analyzed and transfer them into the glass beaker (or Erlenmeyer flask).
Add 20 ml of distilled water. Add 5-8 drops of PHENOLPHTHALEIN indicator. The solution will turn COLORLESS.
Titrate the resulting solution, keeping it stirred, with 0.1 N Sodium Hydroxide until a PINK color is obtained. This color change identifies the end of the titration.
Power supply
To obtain the concentration in g/l, multiply the value obtained by the fixed number 1.00.
Then bring the concentration to the required value.
Precautions
Avoid mixing the product with chlorinated substances.
The product has an acidic action and direct contact with the eyes or prolonged contact with the skin causes irritation. Therefore, handle the product wearing gloves and protective clothing.
