FIPRO DEFOAM 173 has been designed to solve the problem of breaking down certain types of foam that are particularly tenacious and persistent.
It is generally used in the presence of foams of a frothy type, i.e. devoid of air, which are difficult to break down except by breaking down surface tension.
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is, in fact, able to homogeneously and continuously break up the most persistent masses of foam thanks to the formation of a thin but solid foam-breaking veil over the surface of the treated liquid.
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is also used in the presence of aqueous solutions with very acid or very alkaline PH where normal silicone defoamers lose their effectiveness.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO DEFOAM 173 is self-emulsifiable in water; in order to obtain complete dispersion of the product, it is advisable to constantly mix it with the liquid to be treated or to pre-addict it with suitable surfactants to favour its dispersion in aqueous systems.
Due to the specific conditions of use of the product, it is advisable to carry out preliminary tests to establish the exact dosage.
Generally 1 to 3 parts of product per 1,000 parts of liquid to be treated is used.
