Technical characteristics
FIPRO DEFOAM 174 is a 100% active ingredient defoamer suitable for controlling and eliminating foam generated by any type of resin used in the production of paints and varnishes.
In addition to exerting an effective anti-foaming action during the mixing phase, it proves to be an excellent deaerator in the finished product.
FIPRO DEFOAM 174 is also suitable for controlling foam in aqueous solutions containing paint residues, such as in the water flow cycles of paint spray booths. FIPRO DEFOAM 174 is characterized by very high performance.
Use and Applications
To achieve a good result, it is advisable to dose the product in concentrations between 0.1 - 0.3%.
FIPRO DEFOAM 174 can be introduced at any stage of processing without causing any issues to the final preparation.
It is recommended to add half of the product dose before dispersion, to achieve an antifoaming action, and to add the second half at the end of processing, to obtain a defoaming-deaerating effect.
In spray booths, FIPRO DEFOAM 174 should be added at a point of maximum turbulence to allow good dispersion of the product in the recirculating water. Generally, in spray booths, the dosage of use is 0.1% of the volume of water to be treated. Depending on the amount of excess paint present in the water curtain, a periodic addition of FIPRO DEFOAM 174 must be calculated in order to keep the foam level constantly under control.

The storage temperature should preferably be between 5 and 35 °C. Protect from frost. The product is stable for 6 months from the packaging date.
