FIPRO SG 598 is an alkaline liquid degreaser for spray and electrolytic applications for cleaning steel and galvanized steel.
Use and Applications
FIPRO SG 598 should be used in aqueous solution, by spray or electrolytically, under the following conditions:
Temperature: 60 ÷ 80 °C
Contact time: 1 ÷ 3’
Bath make-up: 20 ÷ 50 g/l

Bath control
Take 10 ml of bath
Pour into a flask/beaker
Add 3-5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator
Titrate with 0.1 N sulfuric acid until the color changes from purple to colorless.
The ml of acid consumed for the color change represent the bath points, which for a preparation at a
concentration of 10 g/l is approximately 5.0.

Power supply
For each point consumed, add 2 kg of FIPRO SG 598 for every 1000 l of bath.
Storage
Tanks: Mild steel and DIN EN 10025, special steels No. 1.4541 and No. 1.4571
Keep the degreasing solution free of contaminants: skim and remove by overflow any impurities
such as oil or dirt floating on the surface of the bath. Before refilling the tank, ensure
the removal of any deposits that may have formed on the bottom of the tank.
For transport, storage, handling and wastewater discharge, follow the instructions and regulations in force.
Avoid improper handling of the packaging which may cause product spillage.
Protect from frost, store away from heat sources and direct sunlight, keep containers tightly
closed.
Any formation of a black precipitate at the bottom of the product containers does not affect the degreasing performance
of the product itself.
