METALFIP 328 is a product that allows for the simultaneous deoxidizing and phosphating of ferrous materials. It forms
a coating consisting essentially of iron phosphates, particularly suitable for preparing the material for painting.
METALFIP 328 contains antioxidants, and is therefore recommended for prepainting lines with low chain speeds or for plants where frequent production stops are possible.
METALFIP 328 can also perform an effective degreasing action when used in combination with a suitable surfactant. It can also be used on non-ferrous surfaces, on which, however, it only exerts a deoxidizing action and, if appropriately additived, also a degreasing action.

Use and Applications
METALFIP 328 must be used in aqueous solution, under the following operating conditions:
Bath temperature:

Solution control
Take 10 ml of the bath with a volumetric pipette,
Pour into an Erlenmeyer flask, dilute with distilled water, add 3 - 5 drops of methyl orange indicator
Titrate with 0.1 N NaOH until the color changes from red to persistent yellow.
The ml of 0.1 N NaOH consumed for the color change give the bath points.
A bath prepared at 60 g/l has a points value of approximately 33,9 ml.
Power supply
Replenish with METALFIP 328 in rate of 1,76 kg (equal to 1.25 liters) for each missing point and per 1000 liters of bath.
Precautions
Materials coming into contact with METALFIP 328 must be acid-resistant – AISI 316 L.
For transport, storage, handling, and the discharge of effluents, follow the instructions and current regulations.
Avoid improper handling of packaging which may cause product spillage.
Protect from frost, store away from heat sources and direct sunlight, keep containers tightly closed.
