Technical specifications
ULTRAFIP 605 is a yellow, fluid, liquid compound. Its pH in a 1% aqueous solution is 2.6 while at 15° C the specific weight is 1.09. The product mainly consists of a mixture of a number of different surfactants that ensure the rapid solubilisation of contaminations (even particularly tenacious cleaning pastes) without dulling or chemically damaging surfaces.
This prerogative allows the compound to be used even with parts made of mixed materials (e.g. stainless steel pans with aluminium bottoms), enabling the total elimination of processing residues while protecting lighter surfaces from attack.
An important prerogative of ULTRAFIP 605 is the special shine guaranteed to treated parts.
The high degree of degreasing that characterises ULTRAFIP 605 also makes it suitable for decontamination in galvanic and hot-dip galvanising cycles.
Usage and Applications
Use concentrations of ULTRAFIP 605 can be roughly obtained from the table below.
Contact times usually vary, depending on operating conditions between 30" and 5'. Ultrasonic treatments are preferably recommended.

Bathroom control
The liquor is titrated by acidity determination with phenolphthalein indicator and 0.1 N sodium hydrate titrant solution by proceeding as follows:
Take 10 ml of the bath by graduated pipette and place in a 250 ml conical flask. Add 5-6 drops of phenolphthalein and titrate with NaOH 0.1 N until the solution changes from colourless to stable pink. The number of ml of NaOH 0.1 N consumed by titration multiplied by 4.6 gives the concentration in g/l of the bath.
For every ml (point) missing and for every 1000 litres of liquor add 4.6 kg of ULTRAFIP 605.
