Technical specifications
FIPROCOAT 9000 is a chromium- and heavy metal-free pre-painting treatment product used to produce a light blue colour conversion on iron, and a colourless to iridescent conversion on aluminium and galvanised. The resulting coating layer has excellent anchoring properties for the paint and provides valuable protection against corrosion.
Usage and Applications
FIPROCOAT 9000 is applied either by spraying or dipping, in an aqueous solution.
The operating conditions may vary depending on the result and the pre-treatment plant.
Before conversion, it is necessary to remove any pollutants from the surface of the parts to be treated, using degreasing alkaline baths, followed by several thorough rinses.
Prepare the bath using demineralised water and add 10 to 50 kg of FIPROCOAT 9000 for every 1000 litres of bath. Bring to working temperature and homogenise at least 15 minutes before treating workpieces.
Then add 3 to 25 kg of ALCAFIP 1051 until the pH of the working bath is stabilised to between 4.2 and 4.8.
After treatment with FIPROCOAT 9000, the parts must be rinsed with clean water preferably demineralised water (overflow welcome) and final pass with deionised or demineralised water. FIPROPLUS 915 can be added in steps after conversion to optimise paint adhesion.
Following drying with temperature between 50 and 90°C.

Bathroom control
Please proceed as follows:
.- .
Take 50 ml of bath and transfer to an Erlenmeyer flask
. Add 6 ÷ 7 drops of phenolphthalein indicator
Titrate with NaOH 0.1N, the millilitres of NaOH 0.1N consumed indicate the concentration of the working bath.
A bath prepared with 30 g/l FIPROCOAT 9000 has a score, without pH adjustment, of 4.3 ml.
Adjusting the pH with approx. 20 g/l ALCAFIP 1051 gives a score of approx. 10.0 ml.
For more accurate bath management we also recommend periodic zirconium point determination by complexometric titration of the solution under test.

Power supply
The correct feeding of the bath will be determined by the Fiprokim technical service depending also on the amount of overflow set.
In any case it is recommended to introduce 7 kg of FIPROCOAT 9000 for each missing zirconium point per 1000 litres of bath.
In any case it is recommended to feed continuously, using overflow to reduce pollutants and to feed according to the set pH.
Plant Provisions & Storage
All parts in contact with FIPROCOAT 9000 must be made of material resistant to fluorides and acidity.
AISI 316L stainless steel
Ebanitatura
PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyfluorinated plastics
Products must be stored at a temperature between 5-40 °C.
