Technical characteristics
FLUX 391 is a clear liquid suitable for protecting series 300 stainless steel parts from thermal oxidation occurring during welding.
FLUX 391 is not suitable for types 303 and 316F.
Use and Applications
The parts must be perfectly degreased and dry. Wet the parts to be welded by immersion and allow them to dry. A borate film will form that is highly resistant to the touch, after which the parts are ready for welding either with an induction welding machine or with a micro-flame torch.
FLUX 391 is exclusively protective; therefore, it is necessary to use a deoxidizing paste for stainless steel for the fluxing (flowability) of the brazing alloy.

Storage
FLUX 391 is flammable. Therefore, take all necessary precautions for the use of flammable products.
The treatment of the parts to be welded in FLUX 391 must be carried out in a location other than the work area (welding department). The area must be well-ventilated and dry.
