FIPROPLUS 915 is a liquid, phosphorus-free product, suitable for application prior to powder coating or cataphoresis systems. It reacts with steel, aluminum, and zinc substrates to increase adhesion and corrosion resistance properties on all types of paint.
FIPROPLUS 915 is silane-based and heavy metal-free. Prior to treatment, substrates must be thoroughly degreased and rinsed to allow proper deposition.
The product can be used at ambient temperature (thus allowing significant energy savings), both by spray and immersion. FIPROPLUS 915 can be used with tap water for bath preparation; however, its use with demineralized water is always recommended for greater bath activity and longer bath life.
Use and Applications
Solutions of FIPROPLUS 915 must be prepared in tanks or washers that have been previously cleaned and rinsed.
Before applying FIPROPLUS 915, all surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed. To achieve the best performance and extend the bath life, rinsing should be followed by a cascade rinse with demineralized water towards the previous rinsing stage.
FIPROPLUS 915 is used under the following operating conditions:
Concentration: 0.5 - 3.0 %
Temperature: 20 – 40 °C
Time: 20”- 400”

Bath control
Take 100 ml of the bath in a 200-250 ml volumetric flask or Erlenmeyer flask
Add 5-6 drops of bromothymol blue indicator. The solution should turn blue.
Titrate with 0.1 N acid until the color changes from blue to yellow, passing through a green color.
The ml of 0.1 N sulfuric acid used correspond to the bath points.
The bath points multiplied by 0.3 gives the product percentage.
FIPROPLUS 915 at 1% in demineralized water: consumption of 4,3 ml of acid
FIPROPLUS 915 at 1% in tap water: consumption of 6,4 ml of acid
If the conductivity exceeds 1000 μS/cm, it is recommended to regenerate part of the bath and replenish it with fresh water and product.
To obtain the best results, for the preparation of the bath, it is recommended to use water that does not exceed the following characteristics:
Conductivity: 550 μS/cm
Chlorides + sulfates: 70 ppm (70 mg/l)
A solution of FIPROPLUS 915 normally has a pH of between approximately 8-10. The pH normally decreases slightly as the bath ages.

For each ml of missing 0.1 N acid, add 3 l of product for each 1000 l of bath.
For automatic feeding of the product, automatic equipment based on conductivity values can be used.
