WATERFIP C 203 is a mildly acidic liquid product which, when added to the water of paint spray booths, acts on the paint by coagulating it and preventing it from adhering to the mechanical parts of the booth and the piping. The coagulated paint will form an easily skimmable surface layer or, with certain types of paint, it will settle to the bottom of the tank. The ideal pH at which WATERFIP C 203 performs its functions is 8.0 - 10.5, obtainable by adding buffered liquid caustic soda to the water. The product is also used as a flocculant for wastewater treatment and as a flotation agent in the treatment of oily emulsions.
Use and Applications
As a coagulant in water-curtain spray booths
Add the product to the tank by means of a dosing pump at a rate of one part for every 20/25 parts of paint presumably present in the water, and maintain the pH of the solution within values between 8.0 and 10.5. The paint sludge that floats to the surface can be continuously skimmed off using appropriate systems, as can the sludge that settles on the bottom.

WATERFIP C 203 is an acidic product, therefore it is recommended to handle it wearing protective gloves and safety goggles. The dosing pumps for the product must be made of PVC, plastic, or stainless steel.
