Technical specifications
FIPROSTEEL 785 is a fluoride-free product based on sulphuric acid and organic acids, designed for cleaning, pickling and polishing stainless steel items.
FIPROSTEEL 785 has a high degreasing and brightening power.
The low emulsifying power allows solutions to last longer as the oils separate from the solution, facilitating their removal.
FIPROSTEEL 785 has a high deoxidising power, easily removing light layers of oxides and/or carbonaceous particles.
Use
FIPROSTEEL 785 is to be used in an aqueous solution, by spraying or dipping, under the following operating conditions:
Treatment time: from a few minutes up to 25'
Bath temperature: room temperature to 55°C
Bath formation: use in concentrations between 2 and 7%
Treatment times will be established by Fiprokim Technical Service during plant start-up and may vary according to the type of material to be treated.
Rinse thoroughly with water after treatment.
For the solution holding tanks use stainless steel of the 316L series or better coated with anti-acid material (e.g. PP).

Control
Check the concentration of the solution frequently and periodically by determining the free acidity (score) using the following method:
take 10 ml of the solution to be analysed by means of a graduated pipette and place it in an Erlenmeyer flask
add approx. 100 ml demineralised water
add 4-5 drops of bromocresol green indicator
titrate with NaOH 0.1 N (sodium hydrate 0.1 N) until yellow to green
. A bath prepared at 20 g/l has a score of about 12 points (ml sodium hydrate 0.1 N consumed) while one prepared at 70 g/l has a free acidity of about 42 points.

Power supply and conduction
The liquor must be maintained at the preset concentration values when starting the system with additions of product with the solution in motion.
. For each missing free acidity point add 1.67 kg of FIPROSTEEL 785 per 1000 litres of liquor. The product is suitable for automatic feeding by conductivity measurement.
