Technical specifications
ULTRAFIP 605 is a yellow, fluid liquid compound. Its pH in a 1% aqueous solution is 2.6, while at 15°C the specific gravity is 1.09. The product mainly consists of a mixture of various surfactants capable of ensuring the rapid solubilization of contaminants (even particularly stubborn polishing pastes) without dulling or chemically damaging the surfaces.
This feature allows the compound to be used even in the presence of parts made of mixed materials (e.g., stainless steel pots with aluminum bottoms), allowing the total elimination of processing residues while simultaneously protecting lighter surfaces from attack.
An important feature of ULTRAFIP 605 is the particular shine guaranteed to the treated parts.
The high degreasing power that characterizes ULTRAFIP 605 also makes it suitable for use in the decontamination phase of electroplating cycles and hot-dip galvanizing.
Use and Applications
The operating concentrations of ULTRAFIP 605 can be indicatively obtained from the table below.
Contact times usually vary between 30” and 5’, depending on the operating conditions. Preferably, ultrasonic treatments are recommended.

Bath control
The bath is titrated by determining the acidity with phenolphthalein indicator and 0.1 N sodium hydroxide titrating solution, proceeding as follows:
draw 10 ml of the bath using a graduated pipette and transfer it into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask. Add 5-6 drops of phenolphthalein and titrate with 0.1 N NaOH until the solution turns from colorless to a stable pink. The number of ml of 0.1 N NaOH consumed in the titration multiplied by 4.6 gives the concentration of the bath in g/l.
For each missing ml (point) and for every 1000 liters of bath, add 4.6 kg of ULTRAFIP 605.
